The game starts in the middle of a woods where you control a tiny girl named Nelly who's searching for her lost brother, named Joe. The tower is guarded by a monster named Treadmills, a strong, yet fairly clumsy creature which produces the ropes that result in the tower unstable.
After cutting the rope, Nelly must use the PS Vita's camera so as to manipulate the ropes in such a way as to allow her to cross the towers and get nearer to Joe. The game is played in a horizontal scrolling manner, like the ones found in Nintendo DS and PSP handheld gaming programs. This mode allows gamers to rotate the camera from left to right in order to see both the tower itself and the creature Treadmills since they move across the screen. You can also use the touch screen buttons located on the left side of the display to move and see the different levels that can be found within the game. After Nelly reaches the tower, then she needs to make her way down the rope and defeat the monster before going into the Tower of Light.
Throughout the game, Nelly should cut the rope in order to prevent the monster Treadmills from breaking it down. The monster's movement, power, and speed are determined by the sort of rope that she cuts. Since Nelly progresses through the degrees, she can go down or up. If Nelly goes up, she must make her way through the Tower of Light until she reaches the bottom, while if she goes down she must find a way back to the tower to keep her adventure.
A unique feature of the game is that the rope Nelly utilizes to cut the rope is a reflection of her emotions and mental state of mind. If she's happy or unhappy, she will use a different type of rope and if she's angry, she will use another rope entirely.
